Overview

SectionSignal is a local-first browser utility for monitoring selected website sections. It is designed to work without accounts, analytics, cloud sync or selling data.

Data Stored Locally

  • Saved monitor URLs and selected page sections
  • Local page snapshots used for before and after comparisons
  • Change history and notification state
  • Per-monitor settings such as enabled, paused and check timing

Data Not Collected

  • No account data
  • No analytics events
  • No payment data
  • No selling data
  • No monitored page content sent to a server in v1
  • No remote AI processing

Network Access

SectionSignal does not send monitored page content to external servers in v1. Monitors, snapshots and change history stay in browser storage.

Permissions Explained

storage Store monitors, snapshots, change history and settings locally in browser storage.
activeTab Let you select a visible page section on the tab you are actively using.
tabs Open and manage monitored pages when a local check needs to run.
alarms Schedule local checks while the browser is open.
notifications Show local browser notifications when a watched section changes.
<all_urls> Read the page sections that you explicitly choose to monitor.

Data Deletion

You can delete SectionSignal data by removing saved monitors inside the extension or by uninstalling the extension. You can also clear extension data through Chrome extension settings.
